The Donald 2.0

He's back. Trump won the election 2 days ago. Of course, the Left and the Never Trumpers are going crazy. I've become somewhat ambivalent about him but, he's surely got to be a better choice than Kamala and Tampon Tim.

Again with the masks

This article lays out how the question of whether or not masks work has been so politicized that even the so called experts are frauds.

The Covid Hoax?

This article mirrors what I have long thought regarding the whole Covid-19 issue.  It essentially says that upon looking at all deaths in the US for the past several years, there has not been a spike it the total number of deaths as one might expect with the Pandemic panic that has consumed us for the past 9 months.  There are a large number of Covid-related deaths but along with that has been a similar decrease in deaths due to heart attack and other issues.  This makes one wonder whether Covid has had a significant impact on the death rate or not.

I should note that other people have challenged the results of this analysis.

Another in the Win column

Played in a Senior Golfweek Tournament this past weekend at the Hammock Beach Conservatory course.  Played one of the best rounds that I've ever played.  I shot a 1-under 71 to take the victory by 4 shots.  Am I good?  Well, not bad.

Don't Make Up Your Mind

This is an interesting read.  I've seen the picture of the South Vietnamese General shooting the man many times but never knew the story behind it.  It reminds me that there is always context that pictures don't capture.  I don't know the author of this piece so you can judge for yourself whether or not to consider her point.

Just found this post on Ricochet (a conservative website).  I think it pretty much sums up my thinking on the topic as well.

So this weekend was a 54 hole tournament called the Marion Masters.  I haven't played in it before but decided to this year.  Unfortunately the past 2-3 weeks I've been having a pain in my lower back.  I thought I could play through it this weekend but that didn't happen.  Although I played, the pain got worse each day.  I didn't represent myself very well at all.  Now, if I'm smart (yeah right), I'll take off for about a month and let it heal.  I'll try.

Golf at Big Rock

On a more positive note, Jude and I spend this weekend in the Hickory, NC area.  We got a tour of the Big Rock Country Club and Spa.  What a magnificent venue.  I played only 9 holes but was extremely impressed with the Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout.  And a big shout-out to Bill Knox for playing along with me and to his lovely wife Mary Ann for showing Jude around the area.

Apparently the Champions Tour used to play here.  I can see why, it it beautiful.  We may be back.

The truth is hard to get out there

Here is a link to a purported email from a black history professor at UC Berkeley.  For those who care to read it and understand it, it speaks volumes to what is happening today.  https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/anonymous-black-berkeley-professor-writes-open-letter-exposes-the-truth-about-blm/

Have we gone mad?

These past few months have been devastating.  First there was (and still is) the threat of the Wuhan virus.  While it is being blamed for the death of over 100,000 Americans, there is certainly some controversy as to whether it is worse than many of virus strains.  Most of the country has been either totally or partially closed down because of it

Then there was the death of George Floyd at the hands, or rather the knee, of a Minneapolis police officer.  This has sparked protests, riots, looting, and general mayhem in many cities across the country.  As a result there has been a lot of kow-towing to various left wing organizations and demands for change.  Not sure where all this is going to go but, it ain't pretty right now.  Here's some of what is happening in Seattle. https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/seattle-autonomous-zone-has-armed-guards-local-businesses-threatened-with-extortion/

So, "the Donald" has been impeached by the House.  Although I'm not a big fan of his, this impeachment is pretty much a sham perpetrated by those who simply can't stand the guy.  I must admit that, although I don't like his style, he has made some nice strides toward improving the economy.  The DJIA has risen over 10,000 points since he became President.  Impressive.  But, the Democrats will never stop their impeachment efforts unless and until the Republicans take back control of the House.

Well, as I've probably posted before, I am an avid golfer and have had some minor successes at it.  You can read one of my recent successes here at Marion County Golf Association.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

It has been so long since I posted anything on my Blog that I forgot how to do it.  Of course, the fact that it is 1:08 a.m. and I've had a couple of adult beverages may have contributed to that.

So here we are in late October 2018 and another election coming up.  The Donald won the Presidential election a couple of years ago and my opinion of him hasn't changed much.  I am beginning to accept that his style has some appeal but I'd still like to see him reign it in a bit.

The Democrats, on the other hand, have apparently decided that the best way to counter "The Donald" is to constantly be on the attack.  They are actually now vehemently opposing things that he proposes even though they were espousing these same positions just a few years ago.  The flood of illegal immigrants is the most poignant example of this reversal of positions.  How can you possibly trust a party who changes their position simply to oppose the other party.  Where is their moral compass?

Any how, I have told myself that I plan to start blogging a bit more, if for no other reason than to try to understand my own thinking on these many issues.  Wish me luck.
