It has been so long since I posted anything on my Blog that I forgot how to do it.  Of course, the fact that it is 1:08 a.m. and I've had a couple of adult beverages may have contributed to that.

So here we are in late October 2018 and another election coming up.  The Donald won the Presidential election a couple of years ago and my opinion of him hasn't changed much.  I am beginning to accept that his style has some appeal but I'd still like to see him reign it in a bit.

The Democrats, on the other hand, have apparently decided that the best way to counter "The Donald" is to constantly be on the attack.  They are actually now vehemently opposing things that he proposes even though they were espousing these same positions just a few years ago.  The flood of illegal immigrants is the most poignant example of this reversal of positions.  How can you possibly trust a party who changes their position simply to oppose the other party.  Where is their moral compass?

Any how, I have told myself that I plan to start blogging a bit more, if for no other reason than to try to understand my own thinking on these many issues.  Wish me luck.

So, I've had a couple of wins and a couple of second place finishes in my golf tournaments this year.  I won the only two tournaments that I've played so far in the Golfweek Amateur Tour.  One was at Juliette Falls and the other at Candler Hills.  I finished second in the Pine Oaks Invitational and second in the George Scales Memorial held at the Country Club at Silver Spring Shores.  This last tournament was particularly frustrating.  Six under on the front nine and seven over on the back.  But, on the positive side, we got fed each day and I got a little pro shop money for my trouble.

Alright, it's good to be back from a 2 year hiatus.  Since my last post, we've move to Florida and I'm ever so close to retirement.  Given that, plus the current state of affairs here, I plan to be much more active on this blog.

"The Donald" has been elected President since my last post.  Although I am certainly no fan of him, I can't help but be happy that it wasn't Hillary Clinton.  The President is finding few friends in DC and fewer yet in the media.  Of course, he is his own worst enemy but, even so, not many of the Washington elites are giving him a chance.  If he could only act like an adult most of the time, his job would be easier.

On a personal level, we have added another grand-daughter to the fold and have a grandson that will be joining us in a few days.  So, all is not doom and gloom.

I'm still working a little and play a lot more golf.

More to follow.
